Of Vampires and Werewolves

Vampires. Werewolves. Scary stuff in the movies. Scarier still in real life.
Vampires feed on your energy and give nothing back. The client who demands constant attention and yet balks at your fees? Vampire. Worse still, doing your best work with vampires is difficult unless it’s 100% focused on their (often hidden) agenda. They leave you drained and lifeless, looking for the nearest stake. Enforcing consistent boundaries works best with vampires, but sometimes you’ll just need to cut them loose.
Werewolves are trickier to spot. You’re working with a seemingly normal human being who suddenly transforms into a raging beast. Fast, visceral and cruel, their intense rage is laser-focused on you. If a silver bullet isn’t handy, you have a decision to make. Is this a 1-time reaction borne of stressful circumstances or should you plot your exit strategy? In either case, werewolves in full bloom are dangerous. You want to act like with any wild animal: calm, cool and never turn your back.
Vampires and werewolves: be on your guard.
Wow…how appropriate on Halloween! I’ve run into many vampires and a few werewolves. I would say Werewolves by far are the scariest…unpredictable and very vicious!
Hi Kevin,
Happy Halloween! Let’s hope no werewolves cross your path….
LOL!!! That must have been some honeymoon Rochelle; if your first posting when you returned is about vampires and werewolves. BTY, one of my grandsons was a werewolf and one a vampire. Go figure?
I suspect friends could ID one of each. It remains so important to set limits and to say no. I have no problem pushing back. And it applies to more than client situations; it also can involve bosses and intermediate supervisors.
LOL Ed–that never occurred to me! It was a great “mini-moon” and I came home to Halloween…
Thanks Corey–Oh yes, vampires and werewolves are lurking everywhere!
