When Your Authority Really Takes Off

  • Category: Authority Mindset

One of the excellent things about building authority is when it really takes off.

Imagine your email list is in the hundreds of thousands, your debut book sold over 1 million copies and you’ve been all over the media.

You’d probably struggle to answer all the emails coming your way—the legitimate ones and the random ones better suited to a delete key.

What you probably don’t want to do is what I just received back when I sent a query to such a name.

It’s an auto responder message that opens with “Please note that due to the large volume of email I receive (500+ messages per day), this email account is not monitored.”

Really.

That choice speaks volumes about his brand.

He could have chosen to have it monitored—by say a trusty VA—to sort out the gems from the dregs in a way that doesn’t scream “I’m too important now to pay attention to my audience.”

Because here’s the thing.

Access to your authority is a choice: make sure it aligns with how you want your brand experienced by your expanding audience.
