Why Now Is The Time To Rely On Your Good Habits

Cratering stock market, tariffs added, then removed, then added back and paused, tens of thousands of employees fired, federal agencies gutted, border detentions and expulsions.

Oh and there’s this: the intentionally inflicted madness seems like it will remain unchecked.

So it’s hardly surprising if you’re feeling stressed, angry and worried about the future.

Which is why now is the time to lean into your good habits. Especially in your business.

Take your business development. If you’ve already got a system—a set of habits that are building a pipeline of future clients—excellent!

Just keep working your system the same way you always have (varying the content and your CTAs if that makes sense for your audience and their current experience).

If you’re feeling a pinch—from scared clients sitting on their checkbook or you’re in a decimated sector—resist the urge to dial up your sales efforts by throwing a ton of hours at them.

You risk coming off as desperate, which never ends well.

The exception? When your people are in a really bad place and are looking for community and/or support. Dedicating more time to them as a service avoids desperation and enhances your relationships.

If you haven’t figured out a system for nurturing leads yet, why not experiment with a few measured, thoughtful habits?

When times are stressful, your helpful moves can become highly memorable and you just might grow while your peers are busy contracting.

Good habits are like anchors in a storm—they keep you focused on things you can control.

Sticking to your work-out schedule, your meditation, walks with a friend or visits to the park will keep you feeling mentally ready for whatever surprise gets dropped next.

Ditto with your business-building habits.

The world doesn’t get to dictate your success—luck comes to those who keep their hands on the wheel.
