Twitch Or Phenom?

A twitch is a small movement. A jerk of the head. A lean forward.

But a phenom is something different.

It can roar, it can swell, but it does go epic.

Most of us are working on twitches. Tweaking a service offering. Tinkering with content. Fussing with details.

A twitch rarely leads to a phenom (although it could point you in the right direction).

Twitches consume our energy and use precious resources. They fool us into thinking we’re moving forward when we’re really just delaying epic.

So the next time you’re tempted to twitch, stop. Try waiting 24 hours to see if there isn’t something bigger you can make happen.

Creating a phenom takes more work, but isn’t epic worth it?

  • I think small changes lead to big things. Sometimes these small adjustments are harder to make because they feel so uncomfortable.

The more uncomfortable or scarier the change, that’s a sign you need to step into it and do it now.

  • Epic always make sense; just a question of how to get it; I sometimes will make the small changes but only at my end. I find reflection and sometimes chatting up (vetting?) the concepts rather fruitful to get at the big

  • Steve and Corey,
Thanks for stopping by and adding to the conversation! Yes, it is a balance between twitching and epic. I found myself doing too much “twitching” last week, hence the topic 🙂

What a great line and a timely reminder:

“Twitches consume our energy and use precious resources. They fool us into thinking we’re moving forward when we’re really just delaying epic.”

    Thanks for sharing!
